Match Preview

Chelsea, having just won the Club World Cup will be pressing forward in the hope of collecting some more silverware this season. Their opportunity to challenge for the Premiership title is practically out of reach, while The Reds are now the only challenger left standing who could still make a challenge against City to take the Premiership. Both teams are at full strength and Sundays match should provide a proper showcase for English Football.

Kai Havertz scored the opener for The Blues in their 2-0 Champions League win against Lille on Tuesday night, with Christian Pulisic netting the other in the second half and these two will be key players on Sunday night as Chelsea look to win their third trophy of the season.

With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane back at Anfield after facing off in the Africa Cup of Nations final, and with newly signed up Luis Diaz signed in a £49m January move from FC Porto and Harvey Elliott back from long-term injury, Liverpool are looking in great shape for the clash.

Both teams have won their last 5 matches in a row (all competitions) with Liverpool scoring a combined 14 goals with 3 goals against while Chelsea have scored 9 goals with 2 goals against. The Reds and the Blues both won their opening Champions League matches by 2-0 against Inter and Lille respectively.
