Section B – General Betting Rules

 

The Rules applicable to all bets placed via our Platforms are incorporated into these Terms by reference and can be found here.

1. BET ACCEPTANCE
   1. Each bet constitutes a legally binding betting contract between the Account Holder and Sunbet. The formation of such betting contract requires the following phases:
      1. the advertisement of a betting market;
      2. the request to place a bet or wager on the betting market by the Account Holder;
      3. the acceptance and confirmation of the bet or wager by Sunbet.
   2. Unless accepted in Error, once accepted, a bet will remain valid and cannot be withdrawn. It is your responsibility to ensure details of the bets placed are correct. Under no circumstance will Sunbet accept any responsibility for any mistakes (perceived and actual), deriving from either Errors, or any other reason, such as but not limited to, incorrect listing of the odds/betting objects.
   3. Should a dispute arise about the acceptance (or lack thereof) of any transaction in your Player Account, the transaction log database will be the ultimate authority in deciding such matters.
   4. Sunbet may refuse to accept any bets or wagers at any time and for any reason.
   5. Sunbet, depending on the level of risk, instead of refusing a bet or a wager, may accept the bet request placed by the Account Holder up to a certain Limit.
   6. You will be responsible for ensuring that you have full knowledge of the Rules applicable to the market within which you propose to place a bet.
   7. The placement of a bet signifies your acceptance of the Rules in respect thereof and of the Terms.
   8. Bets shall be subject to such Limits as are determined and displayed in the Terms or as may be posted on the Platforms from time to time. It is your responsibility to establish the prevailing Limits prior to betting on any contingency. Erroneously accepted bets which exceed the prevailing Limits may be adjusted at the sole discretion of Sunbet.
   9. Online bets are subject to the Limits as they may appear on the Platform from time to time.
   10. Sunbet reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to increase or decrease all Limits based on Sunbet’s risk management program, which entails the profiling of its Customers and the monitoring of their betting behaviour against various indicators to establish the level of risk associated with each Customer, in compliance with any Applicable Laws.
   11. Any bet alleged to have been placed in respect of which the details are not –
       1. recorded on or reflected by the Platform, or
       2. confirmed by voice recording devices, will not be recognized by Sunbet.
   12. The time of acceptance of a bet shall be the time at which such bet was recorded on the Platforms.
   13. Any betting transaction between you and Sunbet will only be valid once the bet in question has been accepted by Sunbet.
   14. You will under no circumstances place a bet or attempt to place any bet which, calculated together with any other bets then outstanding, exceeds your balance with Sunbet, (after all adjustments in respect of taxes, winnings and losses up to the time of placing of the bet). It is your responsibility, before placing a bet, to ensure that your balance will not be exceeded by placing a bet.
   15. If, owing to a system malfunction, Error, or for any other reason, Sunbet accepts a bet, it will be entitled at its election either before, during or after the outcome of the event or contingency upon which the bet was placed, to honour the bet or to refund your Stake in respect of the bet without regard to any winnings on such a bet. Alternatively, Sunbet may restrict the size of any Stake without notification to you, to ensure that your balance is not exceeded.
   16. Acceptance by Sunbet of a bet over balance Limit, as the case may be, will not prevent Sunbet from exercising its rights to:
       1. collect from you all amounts (including losses) arising from such bet; or
       2. enforce the appropriate deposit limits at any later time.
   17. All bets and markets are subject to minimum and maximum Stakes. The Platform will automatically adjust the Stake on any bet that exceeds the maximum, prior to the acceptance or finalisation of your bet. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of any Stake Limit applied. All maximum Stakes apply per Customer, per bet and per day. You warrant that you will not deliberately attempt to exceed the maximum Stake Limits and that any bets placed in an attempt to avoid the application of these Limits, including bets placed on accounts held by other Customers and multiple bets placed on a single account in order to exceed the Stake Limit, will be voided at Sunbet’s discretion.
2. CONFIDENTIALITY OF BETTING TRANSACTIONS
   1. All betting transactions between you and Sunbet shall be strictly private and shall not be divulged to any third party other than:
      1. an officer or an inspector appointed in terms of any Applicable Laws;
      2. a police official as defined in section 1 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1977 (Act 51 of 1977);
      3. a person specially authorised thereto in terms of any legislation;
      4. pursuant to the terms of an order of a competent court compelling such disclosure; or
      5. with your consent.
3. CANCELLATION (VOIDING) OF BETS (GENERAL)
   1. In the event of a disconnection prior to the commencement of a new game, no funds will be deducted.
   2. In the event of a disconnection occurring after placing a bet and no further action is required to complete the game, the server will determine the outcome. The result will not appear immediately on the screen but can be reviewed in your Player Account detailed game history as soon as it has been determined. If further action is necessary to complete the game, the result will only be displayed upon reopening the game, resuming from the server’s determined last point.
   3. Games left incomplete after 7 days will be terminated, resulting in the forfeiture of any winnings. Nevertheless, each game's specific Rules regarding incomplete game timelines will take precedence.
